DEREK: LINKEDIN OUTREACH

Completed
+
2a 50 LinkedIn Connections

Sent 50 personalized connection requests to ICP-matching prospects. Each message referenced something specific from the prospect's profile or recent posts. This took significantly longer than projected — the personalization step is real, manual work that can't be rushed.

Key learning: LinkedIn outreach personalization is 2-3x slower than estimated. Adjust all future time projections for similar tasks.

2b First Hit — WINNING

Got the first positive response from a cold LinkedIn connection request. This validates that the ICP targeting and personalized messaging approach is working. One real conversation from cold outreach is worth more than 100 ignored generic requests.

2c Value Posts Created

Drafted 3 value posts using the Tool-2D Value Post Generator — one per ICP pain profile (The Ceiling, Expertise Trapped, Imposter). Shared as Tool-2D-Value-Posts.docx in Slack for Will to polish before Day 3 publishing.

2d LinkedIn Title Discussion

Derek asked about updating LinkedIn title to reflect the offer. Will suggested "Applied AI Specialist" or similar language that's trending right now. The title needs to match who you're connecting with — if prospects see "Sales Manager" when they get a connection request from someone talking about AI monetization, there's a trust gap.

WILL: COMMUNITY + CONTENT

Completed
+
2e Landing Page Shared

Shared the AI Monetization Lab landing page for team review: v0-design-enhancement-theta.vercel.app. Tagline: "You use AI. Now make it pay you." 4-month intensive with three operators who have already done it.

2f Community Setup

Created and joined the aimonetizationlab community channel. Will + 2 others joined via invite. This becomes the hub for participant communication during the 90-day cohort.

2g ICP + Tiers Artifact

Created ICP executive summary artifact and ICP + Tiers summary document. Shared PDF mastery-lab-icp-executive-summary.pdf for team reference. These distill the Day 1 ICP work into shareable, portable formats.

2h Waiting on Pain Points

Asked Derek to share pain point content so he can finalize posts. "Let me know when you get the pain point stuff for today out and I will get posts and such together for my tasks." This dependency is the critical path for Day 3 hand-raiser content.

JASON: TOOLS + INFRASTRUCTURE

Completed
+
2i Day 1 Tools Published

Published Day 1 customer-facing tools to the registry: ideas.asapai.net/day-1-complete-v2#tools. Using Derek's Persona Novelist output to backfill Step 2 for Day 1 (alternative BrandStory version planned for later).

2j Sprint Assessment Tracking

Built and published sprint-phase1-assessment-2026-02-19.xlsx for tracking execution progress. Design system and meeting notes published to intelligence registry for brand consistency.

2k Agent-First Approach

Noted that agents will be reverse engineered from what we end up doing to get the result during the sprint — build tools after proving the manual process. "We do dirty with AI — then simplify and automate what we did to get the result."

03
DEREK Day 3
Publish hand-raiser post #1 D3-01
Use verbatim pain language from LinkedIn research. Lead with Angle 2 (The Ceiling).
Track acceptance rate D3-02
Monitor 50 connection requests. Target: 30%+ acceptance rate. Below 15% = profile mismatch.
Follow up on first hit D3-03
The first positive response is warm. Continue conversation, don't pitch yet. Value first.
WILL Day 3
Polish value post copy W3-01
Take Derek's Tool-2D drafts and sharpen the copy. Must keep verbatim ICP pain language.
Landing page iterations W3-02
Incorporate team feedback from Day 2 review. Match ICP language in the hero copy.
JASON Day 3
Build Day 2 skills J3-01
Package Day 2 tools as downloadable Claude skills (.md files) for Derek and Will.
Phase 2 heads start J3-02
Get Phase 2 content live or at least started so it's ready for Day 4 (Saturday).
04
Time Estimates Are Wrong
LinkedIn personalization took 2-3x longer than projected. This isn't a failure — it's data. All future sprint day time estimates need to account for the manual reality of personalized outreach.
Do Dirty, Then Automate
Jason's principle: "We do dirty with AI then simplify and automate what we did." Tools and agents are reverse engineered from manual success, not built speculatively. Ship first, systematize second.
One Hit Validates Everything
Derek's first positive LinkedIn response on Day 2 proves the ICP-to-outreach pipeline works. If one person engages from cold outreach, the targeting is right. Now it's about volume and consistency.
Dependencies Are Real
Will is blocked waiting on Derek's pain point content. Day 3 hand-raiser posts depend on Day 2 pain extraction. Sequential dependencies in a sprint are the #1 bottleneck risk.
1st hit — WINNING
— Derek Kaschak, Day 2 LinkedIn Outreach
Blockers & Risks
Pain point dependency: Will needs Derek's verbatim pain phrases to finalize value post copy. This is the critical path for Day 3.
Time projections off: If Day 2 took 2-3x longer on outreach, Days 3-5 may also underestimate. Build buffer into each day.
Connection acceptance unknown: 50 requests sent but acceptance rate won't be known until Day 3-4. Below 15% means ICP or profile mismatch.
Ready for Day 3
3 value posts drafted — need Will's polish pass, then ready to publish
Community channel live — aimonetizationlab is set up with initial members
Landing page in review — team can send traffic once copy is finalized
First LinkedIn hit received — warm lead to nurture on Day 3
