Rich — Your Next Steps

Forget Everything
I Showed You.
Start Here.

I showed you the engine, the factory, and the space shuttle. You don't need any of that yet. Here's the one thing you do this week, and why it unlocks everything else.

01 — THE HONEST GAP

What I Should Have Said Differently

This is Jason, talking directly to you. I owe you this before anything else.

Jason speaking

Rich, I showed you Forge, agents, dashboards, swarms, Ralph loops, NowPage, CLIs, and 15 other things. That was me being excited. It was NOT the right way to get you started.

Jason speaking

You asked me "where do you send me?" five different times. I gave you architecture when you needed directions. That's on me.

Jason speaking

Here's what I should have said at the beginning of our call instead of the end:

Your blocker isn't that AI is hard. Your blocker is you don't know what question to ask. Once you know the question, AI does the rest.

The question
"Hey Claude, I want to launch a kindness website. I have these ideas [paste your ideas]. What should I do first?"

That's it. That's the whole secret. You ask, it answers, you do. When you get stuck, you ask again.

The Breakthrough
AI is not something you learn. AI is something you talk to. You already know how to talk. You've been doing it professionally for 40 years. That skill IS the skill.
02 — YOUR ONE TOOL

The Only Thing You Need

Not ten tools. Not five. One. Claude Desktop with Co-work. Here are the exact steps.

1

Sign Up for Claude Pro

Go to claude.ai in your web browser. Click "Sign Up." Create an account with your email. Pick the $20/month Pro plan.

What you get: Unlimited conversations, Claude Desktop access, Co-work feature

Cost: $20/month. Less than one lunch at Capital Grille.

2

Download Claude Desktop

Go to claude.ai/download and download the desktop app. Install it like any other program.

It's an app on your computer, like Word or Excel. Open it and sign in with the same account you just created.
3

Find the "Co-work" Button

Look in the sidebar of Claude Desktop. You'll see a button called Co-work. This is the feature that lets Claude see your files and folders, just like I was showing you during our call.

It can read documents, write documents, organize things, analyze spreadsheets.

Think of it as: Heather, but she never sleeps, never gets confused, and types 10x faster.

4

Your First Conversation

Open a new conversation in Claude. Paste this exact prompt. Don't change a word. Just paste it and hit Enter.

I'm Rich Edlich. I'm semi-retired, faith-oriented, and I want to launch a kindness project. Here's what I want to build: - A website about anonymous acts of kindness - A way for people to report kind acts they've done or received (voice or text, ultra simple) - Content that features real kindness stories - Eventually a worldwide kindness counter - Integration with existing rituals (saying grace, church, driving) Here are my constraints: - I'm not technical. I need baby steps. - I don't want to learn coding or agents or CLI stuff. - I have the time and money but not the tech literacy. - My friend Jason built a validation page at https://ideas.asapai.net/kindness and a playbook at https://ideas.asapai.net/kindness-playbook What should I do THIS WEEK to make progress? Give me 3 things max, each taking less than 30 minutes.
5

Do What Claude Says

Read Claude's response. Follow the steps it gives you. When you get stuck on any step, open a new chat and say:

"I'm stuck on [X]. How do I do this step by step?"

That's it. That's the whole process.

The Car Analogy
Everything Jason showed you during the call is what happens behind what Claude is doing for you. You don't need to see the engine to drive the car. You just need to know where the steering wheel is. The steering wheel is: ask Claude.
03 — YOUR 5-DAY RAMP

What Your Week Looks Like

Five days. Thirty minutes each (except Friday, which is fifteen). By Friday afternoon, you'll have a plan, a validated playbook, and a launch list. All built with AI, by you.

Day 1 — Monday
30 minutes

Get Claude. Run the Prompt. Just Read.

Sign up for Claude Pro. Download Claude Desktop. Open it. Paste the prompt from Step 4 above. Hit Enter.

Important: Read Claude's response. Don't do anything yet. Just read. Let it sink in. You'll be surprised how specifically it answers you.
Outcome: You now have a plan written FOR you BY AI
Day 2 — Tuesday
30 minutes

Read the Playbook. Make It Yours.

Open the playbook Jason built: ideas.asapai.net/kindness-playbook

Read it. Then go back to Claude and have a conversation about it. Tell Claude:

Say this to Claude: "I read this playbook about a kindness validation sprint. Here's what I think is right and wrong about it: [your thoughts]. What would you change?"
Outcome: The playbook is now YOURS, not Jason's. You've put your fingerprints on it.
Day 3 — Wednesday
30 minutes

Take Your Own Validation Exercise.

Open the validation page: ideas.asapai.net/kindness

Take the exercise yourself. Yes, fill it out as yourself. Then bring your answers to Claude.

Say this to Claude: "I filled out my own kindness validation exercise. Here's what I wrote: [paste your answers]. What does this tell you about how I should position this project?"
Outcome: You've validated YOUR OWN assumptions by running them through AI
Day 4 — Thursday
30 minutes

Write Your 20 Names.

Open a blank document or a new Claude conversation. Write 20 first names of people in your network. Next to each name, write one kind act you could do for that person. Then let Claude help you prioritize.

Say this to Claude: "Here are 20 people in my network and one kind act I could do for each. Rank them by: who is most likely to be moved by this, and who is most likely to PASS IT FORWARD. Show me the top 5 to start with."
Outcome: Your launch list. The 5 people who start the kindness experiment.
Day 5 — Friday
15 minutes

Call Jason.

That's it. Call Jason. Tell him what Claude said. Tell him what you agree with. Tell him where you're stuck.

Why this matters: Jason can now help you at 10x the speed because YOU'VE done the first-principles work with AI. You're no longer starting from "I don't understand." You're starting from "Here's what I've figured out, and here's where I need your help."
Outcome: Jason can course-correct and build the next phase. You're in motion.
04 — WHY THIS ORDER

Why This Order Matters

Each step unlocks the next one. You can't skip ahead because each piece feeds the one after it. But the good news is: you only need to think about steps 0 through 2 right now.

You saw all of this during our call. Every single one of these things is Jason's job, not yours. If you find yourself Googling any of these words, stop. That's a wrong turn.

Rich's ONLY Job

Talk to Claude. Tell it what you want. Do what it says. Call Jason when stuck.

06 — THE PATRICIA ANGLE

What To Show Patricia

You told me Patricia is skeptical about AI, and you want to show her it can be a force for good. Here's exactly when and what to show her.

After Day 3 (Wednesday Evening)

Show her the validation page Jason's AI built during the call.

Open ideas.asapai.net/kindness on your iPad or laptop and let her look at it.

"This was built by AI in 20 minutes while Jason and I were talking. It's about kindness. Take a look at it."
After Day 5 (Friday Evening)

Show her Claude's responses to your kindness prompts.

Open your Claude conversation history. Show her the back-and-forth where you asked about the kindness project and Claude helped you build a plan, refine the playbook, and identify your first 5 people.

"AI isn't just replacing jobs. It helped me start a kindness project in 5 days that would have taken months otherwise. This is what it can do when you point it at something good."
Why This Matters
This IS the counter-argument to "AI is scary." It's tangible. It's personal. It's about kindness. Patricia doesn't need a pitch deck about artificial intelligence. She needs to see her husband using it to do something beautiful. That's the whole argument.
